Auckland House School targets giving world-class educational and college preparatory training to the students. Ace Auckland, the then Governor-General bought the House in 1836, for the use of himself and his sisters. Later Viceroys moved elsewhere, and the House sold. The Schoolmasters purchased Auckland House in the year 1868. The endeavour for starting a school to give sound guidance to youngsters on Christian measures begun by the Rev. J.B.D' Aquilar in 1864. The school was provided with a remarkable form by a Church-related ladies pack in Dalhousie. They gathered and arranged amenities for the school which they could have placed in Dharamsala. Because of the commendable efforts Mrs Cotton, life partner of Bishop Cotton, the school was constructed in Shimla in the year 1866. The school operates in the Holly Lodge. The school experts decided to purchase the Auckland House in the next two years. This is how the school earned its present name.
