About School
It is the most established military School in India. Alongside its sister organization presently situated in Jhelum, Pakistan, Chail Military School was named as King George Royal Indian Military School in the wake of King George V. After the First World War, in February 1922 the establishment stone of the School was laid, and ordinary classes were begun in September 1925 at Jalandhar Cantt in Punjab. The School was established with the point of giving free instruction to the children of JCOs, NCOs and ORs to set them up for the different Army assessments including the Indian Special Certificate of Education. The whole educational plan of the School depended on military necessities with English as a vehicle of guidance. Initially, the strength of the School was 250, and now it has grown to make the School one big family with thousands of people, including children and the faculties.
