BOYS SCHOOLS IN MUMBAI

Mumbai, India's most populous metropolis and one of the world's largest and densestly populated urban centres, is located on Maharashtra's coast. It was established on an ancient settlement site and named after the local goddess Mumba—a version of Parvati, Shiva's spouse and one of Hinduism's most important deities—whose temple formerly stood in what is now the city's southeastern portion. Mumbai's commercial and financial institutions are also robust and thriving, and the city acts as the country's financial capital. It does, however, suffer from some of the persistent problems that plague many rapidly developing industrial cities: pollution of the air and water, and huge regions of inadequate housing.

EDUCATION IN MUMBAI

Schools in Mumbai employ the Maharashtra State SSC Board, the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), and the All India Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) board syllabus. Private establishments mainly follow the ICSE curriculum, whereas public institutions mostly follow the State Board and CBSE curriculum. Renowned educationists such as Father S Alemida and Dr Nicholas Correa have made significant contributions to improve Mumbai's school education situation. Nicholas Correa developed the concept of teacher-friendly schooling and child-friendly learning in city schools, while S Alemida made sports a mandatory part of the Mumbai school curriculum.
